Kellogg Co. has announced that they are facing a major Eggo shortage. The shortage is connected to problems in two frozen waffle producing plants. A plant in Tennessee has closed due to malfunctioning production lines and it is unknown when it will reopen and the other in Atlanta closed after unprecedented rainfall hit the area in September, but has since reopened. Spokeswoman Kris Charles stated, "we are working around the clock to restore Eggo store inventories to normal levels as quickly as possible." Still, the shortage is expected to last until the summer of 2010 leading parents around the nation to find something else to feed their Eggo loving munchkins for breakfast until this shortage has passed.
Eggo has given customers the option to sign up for updates and information concerning the shortage and when they can see Eggo waffles back on store shelves.

This is going to really cramp my style.
Bummer, Carolyn. Perhaps you could try a generic brand. I happen to like Target's frozen waffles. While they are no Eggo, they do happen to be rather delicious.
Summer 2010? Man, that's no good. I was wondering what the deal was with the empty shelves. I get Griffin the Nutragrain Eggo frozen waffles and pancakes. I second the bummer. Thanks for the info Abbi.
