A Texas cowboy prepares to rope and rid'em. Clarence Alford
Put your walking shoes on, grab a corndog and get set to enjoy all this Texas tradition has to offer! The rodeo takes place on March 12th-27th, with fairgrounds opening at 10am. The whole family will be entertained! The Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo offers everything from food, games, rides, livestock shows, dog trials, horse shows, concerts, a Chuck Wagon Kids cook-off, bbq cook-off, and of course, the rodeo! While the men are off enjoying the world's 6th largest ProRodeo arena, the ladies won't be disappointed with all the unique vendors offering goods such as western wear, jewlery, home furnishings, art, specialty foods, and so much more.
The Star of Texas Rodeo is not here just to supply a good time. It has been around since 1938, and as a non-profit organization, it operates solely with the help of over 2,000 volunteers and supporters. It's mission is to raise scholarship money for the special youth of North Texas. If you are interested in becoming a part of their mission, here's how to get involved. So come out and have fun, but know that you are also helping those bright young Texas stars reach for the stars!
The rodeo offers various ticket options, but the entrance fee to the fairgrounds is $7 for ages 13 and up, and $4 for kids ages 3-12. Children 2 and under are free! Explore this map of the fairgrounds and plan your day.
