Finally, a farmers' market in Lafayette. It's about time. Long overdue. Orinda and Moraga each have one. Moraga's is year round for Peet's sake.
How has Lafayette gone this long without it's own farmers' market? We may never know. It doesn't matter now that Lafayette has one, right? Sort of. According to the website:
The market will run on a trial basis for three consecutive Thursday evenings in September (Sept 3rd, Sept 10th, and Sept 17th). This success of this trial will determine whether it opens on a permanent basis next May through October.
I guess it's just too much to ask for a year round market? It also sounds like the permanent market would be Thursday nights. Interesting. That could potentially free up Sunday mornings for other things. Like what, exactly, I'm not sure. Cross that bridge later.
Whatever, for now, it only matters that Lafayette is getting it's own farmers' market.... for three Thursday nights in September.
