Confessions of an economic "hit man"

"They hate us for our freedoms"

I don't think anyone believes that anymore, but 6 or 7 years ago, that phrase was accepted as fact by many and undisputed by the rest.  What a difference a few years make, right?  Even though that idea has been largely dismissed, the fact remains that many other countries(especially in the 3rd world) have a negative view of the government of the US.

What is the real reason that these countries and their people "hate us"? Quite frankly, it is because we exploit(rape and pillage) many 3rd world countries. Actually, we are the major reason why these countries still are considered "3rd world".

The videos below are interviews of John Perkins, author of this book "Confessions of an Economic Hitman". My comments after the videos.

There is a reason why the government demonizes leaders like Evo Morales, Rafael Correa, Hugo Chavez and Saddam Hussein, and it isn't necessarily because they are "evil".  It is because they refused to sell out their country and its natural resources in order to enrich a select few in the US government.  I am not saying that these men are saints, far from it.  I'm saying that next to the machinations of the CIA, these leaders looks positively angelic.

The US has created a global empire, mostly without the use of our military.  We have our hands in every cookie jar, and we don't care if you catch us or not.  We constantly meddle in other countries affairs, causing havoc, pain and misery, all for our advantage and benefit.

The US has almost 800 military bases in 130 countries, and though the government says that they are there in order to protect freedoms around the world, they are really there in order to bully other nations and protect our own interests. These bases not only cost us tens of trillions of dollars to build(GWB built almost 500 in his 8 years), but they cost us trillions of dollars a year to maintain.

Our global hegemony not only enrages the world, but it is also bankrupting us.  We can't afford to keep borrowing and printing money in order to expand our empire. It is how every single empire in history has collapsed.

Even though the world is filled with (a false) hope because of a new president, the same old tactics persist. Obama doesn't control the CIA or the global elite, they control him.

Without a fundamental change in the way the US and the world does business, the problems this world is facing will persist.

Moreover, the US and other exploiting countries create these "aid" organizations funded by the same enterprises that are plundering other countries' natural resources and taking over their markets to sell their over-production.
Most of these "aid" agencies are "crap" and I'm saying this from my own professional experience...

The most tragic part is that at the end, both the "exploiters" and the exploited have unhappy societies, for different reasons...

Humanity needs a HUGE awakening if it doesn't want to destroy the planet and itself.
