Contest for Prequel Appreciation Day

Obi-Wan Kenobi 2gb mimo-bot

Today is officially the 11th anniversary of The Phantom Menace.

To celebrate, I'm having a Prequel Appreciation Day contest over at Big Shiny Robot!  You can win one of these cool little 2gb flash drives from Mimoco.  (You can check out their website here.)

There are an overwhelming amount of us who love the prequels and we all have our reason why.  To enter the contest is really easy.

All you have to do is go over to Big Shiny Robot! and comment about what you appreciate about the prequels.  There's an extra chance of winning for subscribing to my updates here on The Examiner and commenting below.

And yes, I will be disqualifying any snarky prequel bashing comments.

We're here to talk about what we like about the prequels, and even the most ardent prequel bashers have something they like.  I'm pretty certain of that.

Bryan Young welcomes comments, tips, suggestions, etc. Email him directly at bryan(@)shineboxmp.com or visit him at Big Shiny Robot!  You can also follow him on twitter.

What I loved most about the prequels is the opportunity they gave me to geek out to something I really love while putting a fresh new spin on the Star Wars universe. New faces, new characters, more history and back story. what's not to love? even the most staunch "no-prequel" purist has to admit that more Star Wars is a good thing!

A lot of people don't like the Prequels cause they liked the Original trilogy the way it was. I personally love anything Star Wars, and I think that as the prequels grow older, they will be drawn closer to the originals and the Saga will be seen as one unit, instead of 2 different trilogies.

I loved Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi. He is one of my favorite actors, and getting to see him play the young Kenobi rocked. I think he was the best part of all the prequels.

Ewan McGregor and Liam Neeson together in a movie made the prequels not just rock, but epic! My two favorite actors of all time!! I love the lightsaber duels and seeing what Jedi life was like.

Once Again...I cannot say what I like, guess I have to say what I love, cos I’m totally crazy about Star Wars. I am from this younger genaretion, so I first saw Ep I before the Old Trylogy. And I have to say I prefer prequels. They are amazing. They brought such a big complement to the SW Universe. Ep I TPM is an epic tale with a beautifule planets and creatures. Also young Anakin, we can see vader from completely other side. And of course Duel of the Fates… This music is always in my heart. Darth Maul, Amidala and Qui-Gon….Ep II AOTC- one of the best for me. Very moving and gripping with great action. Thanks for Natalie Portman, she is such a brilliant and smart actress. And good location, Lake Como in Italy. I love the forbidden relationship between padme and anakin. And the scene when Anakin kills Tuskens and words “Someday I will be the most powerful jedi”… In taht moment I see vader and what he has done. Ep III ROTS- very sad I love it but i alway cry when i see it, cos i experie

It cut my comment...Ep III is very sad. I love it but I always cry when I watch it, cos of Anakin's fall. great dialogs and awesome music-Williams. The death of Padme and all the jedi. We can see Chewbacca once again. And epic battle on a Mustafar Anakin vs. Obi-Wan. Burnink Anakin/Vader, very sad and dark. The story is complete thanks to these episodes. I cannot imagine my life without it. THX Mr. Lucas for creating such a beautifule world.

This has nothing to do with your article, but today on Sportsnation they did a whole "Star Wars" based segment in celebration of the anniversary of "Empire Strikes Back". It was quite glorious and I thought you would like that. Keep up the good work!
