Toby Gerhart is back in the national spotlight this week after he rushed for a Stanford football record 223-yards in the Cardinal’s 51-42 win over Oregon.
Gerhart again is being mentioned in the conversation about the Heisman Trophy. He was named a semifinalist for the Doak Walker Award and the Maxwell Award.
One national editor had this say about the senior running back:
“There’s plenty of season left, but if I had to do it (vote for the Heisman Trophy) right now, I’d probably put at the top of my ballot Toby Gerhart.” Tom Keegan, Sports Editor, Lawrence Journal-World.
