Stanford football won on and off the field on Saturday night. After beating Arizona State 33-14, Cardinal Head Coach Jim Harbaugh got a good news phone call.
The 4th ranked cornerback in the state of Arizona called to say he would be a Stanford Cardinal in 2010. Keanu Nelson from Tucson’s Sabino High chose Stanford over a list of other schools that includes Utah, Washington, Colorado, UCLA, Arizona, Nebraska and BYU.
The 5-11, 165-pound cornerback is considered a 3-star recruit. Scout.com lists him as the 31st best player at his position.
The Arizona defensive back pipeline seems to be open as Stanford already has a commit from the third ranked DB in the state. Safety Devon Carrington said yes to Stanford over the summer.
The 2010 commit list for Stanford current stands at 23.
