Tickets are now on sale for another special sports event coming to Buffalo in 2010. The 38th annual USA Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Dinner will be held on the floor of the HSBC Arena in downtown Buffalo on Thursday, October 21st.
The US Hockey Hall of Fame, located in Eveleth, Minnesota, currently has 143 enshrined members. Five more members, also recently announced, will be joining that list in October. The 2010 inductees are:
- Art Berglund, a veteran of five decades in international hockey competition with USA Hockey and the International Ice Hockey Federation.
- Derian Hatcher, a veteran of 16 NHL seasons, mostly with the Minnesota/Dallas Stars organization, he was the first American-born captain of a Stanley Cup-winning team with Dallas in 1999.
- Kevin Hatcher, older brother of Derian, who spent 17 seasons in the NHL, including nine with the Washington Capitals; he is also a veteran of international play, including IIHF World Juniors, Canada Cup, World Cup of Hockey, and the Olympics.
- Dr. V George Nagobads, a 34-year veteran as physician for the University of Minnesota's men's hockey program, as well as the US Olympic men's team, national and junior national teams, and the first US women's national team.
- Jeremy Roenick, a 20-year veteran in the NHL, nine-time All-Star, and two-time Winter Olympian who played for Chicago, Phoenix, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and San Jose.
Tickets for the event are $100 each and are available through the USA Hockey website. The ceremony and dinner get underway at 7 p.m.; doors open at 6:30 p.m.
