The Minnesota Twins pulled out a victory against the Texas Rangers in the first of three game series.
Matt Fox lasted 5 2/3 innings in his major league debut for the Twins, giving up two runs on four hits while Denard Span made a spectacular grab against the wall off the bat of the Rangers David Murphy in the first inning.
Closer Matt Capps came on to finish the eight and shut down the Rangers in the ninth.
