Running cars in both Mod 4 and Super Stock, Josh Cournoyer left little suspense at the front of two packs as he took the checkered flag in two feature races at Red River Speedway Saturday night. After taking 200 points for a first place finish in Mod 4,

Cournoyer capped the night with a run away victory in the Super Stock/Thunder Stock Feature. Cournoyer blew away the rest of the field in the Mod 4 Heat, finishing about a half lap ahead of points leader Debbie Cullar. After taking the win in the 5 lap Dash for Cash race, Cournoyer jumped out to a huge lead in the first lap of the Mod 4 Feature that was erased thanks for a restart. Cullar lead for most of the first lap in the restart, but went wide in the last turn allowing Cournoyer to slip inside and take what would be a commanding lead for the rest of the 8 lap race.

Cournoyer changed cars for Super Stock but didn't change results. In the first Super Stock/Thunder Stock Heat, Cournoyer's No. 28 car easily took the win while Ronald Metcalf held off David Dohme for second place and 40 points in the Thunder Stock standings.

Capping the night with the 15 lap Super Stock/Thunder Stock Feature race, Cournoyer quickly moved to the front of the pack and took a commanding lead despite a restart thanks to Metcalf and Dohme locking up in the first lap. Veteran Teddy Shrum found himself near the back of the field in the restart, but worked his way up to third by lap 5 when Metcalf evidently blew the motor in his No. 44 car to bring out the caution flag.

When racing resumed, Cournoyer went on to an easy win with Randy Marston a distant second. Shrum finished third in the race, first among Thunder Stock cars to give him 200 points in the standings. Shrum also won the Thunder Stock Dash for Cash prior to the feature race.

Marston took second in Super Stock, with Dohme, Ted Minor, and Metcalf rounding out the field for Thunder Stock.

In other racing, Ashley Shrum came away a duel winner in an exciting night for the Hornet class. In the Hornet Heat, Ashley held on for the win despite being challenged the entire race by Justin Shrum. Amanda Shrum took third in the field of six. Ashley came away with the checkered flag in the Hornet Feature race. Justin again challenged early in the race, but was never able to work his way inside on the turns and came away with a second place finish. Larissa Lewis took third.

Brooks Payne inched closer to points leader Cameron Liss with wins in the Charger Heat and Feature races. Mike Wright led early in the Charger Heat, but Payne pushed ahead and cruised to victory as Wright slipped behind Dan Geil to finish third. Liss lost control briefly and slide sideways in the final turn of lap 5, resulting in a fourth place finish.

Wright had the pole for the Charger feature, but Payne quickly slipped inside to take a lead he never relinquished. Wright was out of the race with 2 laps to go, giving Liss room to finish a close second. Geil finished third.
