Have you heard this story? You know, the one about the poor schnook in Massachusetts who picked up stuff near Tom Brady's trash, got money for it at a scrap-metal place and got picked up by the cops for larceny.
Security cameras caught him in the act and what he thought was trash, wasn't. Now comes the hard part, he was ordered to make restitution to Brady to the tune of $4,000. The Boston Herald has the full story, including the thief's colorful past, here
The thief in question, Mr. Dennis Paiva, 61 made national news in the last few days because he is without the ability to pay the debt due to severe illnesses and medical bills. He resorted to one of those classic signs you see people holding at major intersections on which they print their sad stories and hope for charitable passers-by.
The photo of Paiva and his sign got media interest, of course, because of the magic words in the Boston area: Tom Brady. After a day's news cycle Mr. Paiva did find a charitable soul who empathized with his plight. His Good Samaritan has a pal with a wife who suffered a similar medical condition. He just wiped out the guy's debt in one fell swoop. Brady either hasn't heard about it, doesn't care or maybe thinks Mr. Paiva deserves what he got.
One of the best lines about this whole mess was found in an Indy Colts blog called stampedeblue.com. It went like this:
Who points a security camera at their trash cans?"
Precisely. Well, maybe it was pointed at the back gate. Let's face it, paparazzi are relentless with that mega-star couple. That camera will be needed more now than ever once folks who didn't know where the heck Brady lived go worship at the shrine.
The moral of this story? There really isn't any unless like me you think it's a good thing we have people left liquid enough during this awful recession/depression to be able to write a check for $4,000 without even blinking.
Oh yeah and it just adds a bit more to the Teflon nature of Brady. Remember at his Costa Rican wedding, security men were accused of firing gun shots at paparazzi after they stopped taking photos and were making a getaway in their car? Almost got one of the guys through a window. Ever heard about that again? Of course not.

Umm, most thieves don't go through the front door. So how do they break in? Probably through the back somewhere where they are less likely to be seen by neighbors who might call the police. It would seem reasonable to have a security camera there. Has critical thinking been dropped from the reporter's bag?
The more I read this and see your comments on SB, the more I think you are a dope.
Hating TB is fine. Repeating trash is libelous.
Juris Diva! LOL! What a pretentious tool.
I am guessing the only one who does any type of research in your office is the paralegals. Maybe you should have had one research this "story".
Got something to say?
