Group of five friends road trip it every weekend to watch Big Ten football.
In 2006, Drew Cieszynski visited every Major League Baseball stadium and in 2007-2008, every National Basketball Association arena. This season he decided to do college football, and invite some friends.
Jeff Harris, Wes Givens, Blake Suhar and Dan Lawrence joined Ciesynski this year with the goal of visiting every Big Ten football stadium. They are calling it the Big Ten Tour.
Saturday, they will visit Madison, Wis. to experience Camp Randall Stadium to watch the Wisconsin Badgers take on the Purdue Boilermakers, and also experience the nightlife of Madison, on Halloween too!
After visiting the various stadiums and conversing with the local fans, the Big Ten Tour has learned what life is like, on and off the football field, in these college towns. They surely don't just go to the game and drive home.
"Typically we (wake up) before 7 a.m. and get out to the stadium and start tailgating with bean bag toss, ladder golf, flip cup, etc. We try to engage in coversation with as many fans as possible while tailgating," Cieszynski said.
"After the game we attempt to check out the local sites and try the local food and local bars," Cieszynski added.
They have run into some interesting dilemmas throughout the season.
"At Penn State, Wes (Givens), went missing for five hours while (we were there). We called the hospital, jail and other places looking for him. He finally showed up without explanation," Cieszynski said.
They've also met some interesting people, like a fan who recognized them from their blog and delivered Cieszynski a birthday cake on his birthday while they were at Michigan State.
After the season concludes, the Big Ten Tour will have visited all the Big Ten stadiums and college towns and the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. January 1, 2010.
