Following in the footsteps of washed-up pop stars, Cowboys receiver and aspiring diva Terrell Owens will soon begin filming on his very own reality show for VH1. Although Owens' motivation to sign off on the show is unclear (money), the move could be a dark harbinger for the pro-T.O., pro-Cowboys viewer.
Bret Michaels' band Poison released Open Up and Say... Ahh! in 1988. The album included the band's greatest hit, the power ballad Every Rose Has Its Thorn.
In 1990, Public Enemy released Fear of a Black Planet which contained their greatest hit, Fight the Power (For younger readers, Public Enemy was a rap group comprised of the aforementioned Flavor Flav and Chuck D. They were pretty good.)
Flavor of Love debuted in 2006. Rock of Love debuted in 2007.
My point is, if we are to buy into the VH1 reality-show formula, Terrell Owens is telling us that his glory days are behind him. Far, far, far behind him.
All of a sudden, the rumors that the Cowboys are looking to move number 81 this offseason seem a lot more appealing.
