Martin Jones is now in the record books.
Jones, the goaltender for the Calgary Hitmen, set a team record last night for most shutouts in a career with 14.
Jones backstopped the Hitmen to a 5-0 win over the Prince Albert Raiders last night, making 25 saves in the process.
The shutout was Jones's sixth of the season. He now posts a 31-11-1 record, with a 2.38 goals against average and 0.913 save percentage.
The Calgary Hitmen now have a record of 46-17-3, and are currently battling the Brandon Wheat Kings and Saskatoon Blades for first place in the Eastern Conference. With the win, the Hitmen also clinched the Central Division title. The Hitmen got their goals from Joel Broda, Ian Schultz, Michael Stone, Giffen Nyren and Tyler Shattock.
Jones, was the only player on Team Canada's national junior team in 2010 not drafted. The 20 year-old Vancouver native signed with the Los Angeles Kings on October 2, 2008.
