Uehara back to the DL
The Baltimore Orioles have placed pitcher Koji Uehara back on the disabled list, and one can only hope that the team finally abandons their plans to use him as a starter.
The right-hander has experience fatigue in his elbow and asked to come out of his past start against the Florida Marlins.
Uehara has proven time and time again that he does not have the stuff, the strength nor the endurance to be a starting pitcher.
He has proven himself to be the perfect long man out of the bullpen, which is exactly where the Orioles should place him.
It will help keep Uehara healthy and give the bullpen another great arm while allowing a young pitcher like David Hernandez the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the starting rotation.
Let's just hope that Andy MacPhail and Dave Trembley see things the same way and put Uehara in the bullpen after the All-Star break.

SURPRISE! Just kidding. Koji just can't pitch the innings we need him to as a SP. Looks like a bad signing at this point.
Yeah, not surprise there.
Uh, he's your best SP. But don't let that salient fact get in the way of the analysis.
Paul... not even close. Bergeson and Hill are both better and can make it out of the 4th inning. Guthrie is normally better too but hasn't shown it this year.
Paul: I know our pitching staff isn't great, but Uehara is our third best starter, if that. The guy is either constantly hurt or tiring around the 4th and 5th innings. He can't pitch through a batting order a third time.
Bergesen is BY FAR our best pitcher, and Guthrie is still a solid starter despite his rough start to the season.
