Ravens likely done with WR's until NFL Draft

With the Baltimore Ravens completing the inevitable two-year contract with Derrick Mason, the team is now likely done adding wide receivers to the roster until the NFL Draft.

The Ravens have already take a chance on Donte Stallworth, swung a trade and reached a contract extension with Anquan Boldin, and allowed Mason to test the free agent market before he saw their was no interest and came back to Baltimore.

The team is hopeful that Boldin can become the No. 1 receiver and take some of the pressure and attention off of Mason, which will make him that much more effective.

The combination of Mason and Boldin gives the Ravens two wideouts who had over 1,000 yards receiving last season.

Stallworth is a speedy guy who they hope can stretch the field and open things up underneath for Boldin and Mason.

The Ravens also extended tenders to Mark Clayton and Demetrius Williams, and both are expected to battle for playing time with Stallworth.

However, it's very likely the Ravens will select at least one and possibly two wide receivers in next month's draft. If that does occur, Clayton, Stallworth and Williams will enter training camp not only looking for playing time, but also just a roster spot.

Williams would likely be the first man shown the door if the Ravens drafted a wide receiver.

If nothing else, the signing of Mason means that the Ravens will have significantly upgraded at the position in 2010.

Why are they likely done? Where's your facts supporting that? This is a poorly written article, as usual.

BaltoBob: Who else would they get? Bryant has signed, T.O. was a backup plan and there is no interest in Marshall. They traded for Boldin, re-signed Mason and already brought in Stallworth. The roster is logjammed with wideouts now.

Steelers: Unless a top wide receiver falls to them in the first couple of rounds, I think they are going to do exactly what you suggest. You make a great point.
