Ed Norton didn't win the NYC Marathon, but he would have if there was a Celebrity category.
His 26.2 miles clocked in at 03:48:01, better than fellow celebs Anthony Edwards (4h, 08, 20min), and Matthew Reeve--son of the late Christopher Reeve--(04:23:6), and Alanis Morrissette (04:28:45). All ran for charity.
Over 43,000 runners participated in the event. The 40-year-old Norton, who (with 29 or so others) ran for the Massai Wilderness Conservation Trust in Africa, certainly took his preparation seriously. He trained with--as well as ran the marathon with--three Massai warriors.
Norton's post-race dinner plans were a little less exotic and very NYC: Pizza!

Total non sequitur: We can sort of attest to Norton's swiftness of foot. Several years ago while standing at the stage door after Ralph Fiennes' performance in Faith Healer, Ed and a buddy walked out of the stage door . . . and no one noticed until they passed us. Then everyone called after him but alas, Speedy Incognito Ed was long gone. Yay for celebrity encounters we can share on Examiner!
