Starting out with a factory 500 horsepower rating, three types of fuel were tested. The first test was to set the baseline for the testing, which was conventional 110 octane petroleum racing fuel. The second and third test was done using Ignite 111 and 114 octane, which both showed stable gains through out the entire RPM graph. Without adjusting timing, 111 octane Ignite makes 15.9 more foot pounds of torque and 3 more horsepower at wide open throttle. Likewise, without adjusting timing, 114 octane Ignite makes 4.1 more horsepower and 18 more foot pounds of torque at wide open throttle. Overall the effect of Ignite Racing Fuels is higher horsepower and torque while the engine works with less pressures and not as much fuel being burnt, resulting in better mid-range power.
