In an attempt to showcase the latest camcorder technology, a Nissan GT-R street raced past a school bus at speeds in excess of 135 mph. Starting out as a u-turn, the Nissan GT-R rushed off at full throttle. Ripping through first, second, third, and fourth gear until finally running out fifth around 140 miles per hour while driving on a two lane divided highway.
The new camera has a feature that allows it to be strapped to the body panels of a moving vehicle, similar to stunt camera's used in Hollywood. It also records and posts to YouTube with up to 1080 HD quality, superb sound, and great stability. It is great for recording automotive sport, but also opens up the temptation to record illegal street racing footage. Look at the speed when passing the bus below, that's 6,000 RPM at WOT in fifth gear. If you count the speedometer tabulation, you'll see it's right under 140 miles per hour while passing a school bus.
In some states, it's illegal to record with a camera while you drive down the road. In all states, it's illegal to drive almost 140 miles per hour past a school bus. The camera is very cool and allows unique angles, but enthusiasts must take some responsibility while using it. Try using it off road or while traversing on private property. Check out with your local government offices and see if there is any air strips you can rent. Some counties have airport racing days that you can take advantage of. Autocross is another popular sport that counties are taking advantage of to help reduce street racing.

The old days of making only bootleg productions have come and gone. Municipalities are now working with the idea and opening up more racing events. Some parts of Florida, the police actually challenge street racers on the quarter mile. A build off between the two groups sparks friendly competition in a safe environment. I'm really shocked at how this footage is blatantly shot in the danger of innocent kids on a school bus. This is ridiculous dude and not cool at all. I assume the video won't last for long but a few of you will get to see it. Check out EvoStreetRacers.com for more info on how to convert from street to track.
