Lamborghini Gallardo Polizia crash

A Lamborghini Gallardo outfitted with a Polizia package wrecked and was posted on YouTube by YouReporter.it, illustrating the damage with a quick pictorial video. There is no video of the actual wreck occurring, but what we get to see the aftermath. It appears as if the Gallardo was traveling too quick, lost control, and slammed into the rear end of a mini van. The result was a smashed Lamborghini front end, and nearly a totaled mini van.

For what it's worth, the Lambo did a pretty good job protecting the occupants. As seen in Lamborghini crash test footage, the sleek design does an excellent job at protecting occupants. Ample nose length and properly positioned crash bars help distribute the force of the crash through the vehicle instead of into the vehicle.

The Gallardo probably isn't totaled, but by the looks of the mini van it could very well be. The Gallardo is a very well built vehicle for it's extremely light weight chassis. The genius is in the triangular design, we all know a triangle is very strong. When you crash the tip of a triangle, the force is pushed outwards instead of inwards like a square or rectangle. When Lamborghini designs a vehicle, they look past aerodynamics and curb appeal. A combination of these traits with crash sustainability is what makes car enthusiasts still buy these vehicles, regardless if a JDM can be modified to be much faster. The JDM's resemble the box and rectangle, and during a crash they basically collapse.
