Aston Martin DB9 crashes into a tree

The Aston Martin DB9 is a beautiful car, but even it's superior design isn't invisible against mother nature's ailments. The following footage posted by WreckedExotics.com shows a pristine DB9 slamming sideways into a tree during wet weather. Adverse weather and inexperienced drivers with a high powered exotic vehicle always equals disaster. Surprisingly, the DB9 traction control wasn't enough to keep this vehicle from colliding with a tree! What could have possibly caused this to happen? If you watch the film closely, you will see the Aston Martin flying through the intersection corner at a very high rate of speed. Bingo!

Maybe this speed would have been acceptable on dry pavement, but definitely not on a moist surface. Water gets in between the tires and the road surface and creates reduced friction points, which leads to wheel spin and slip. Chances are the driver was speeding and didn't see the corner coming. Slamming on the brakes and trying to turn at the same time, the DB9 enters a nose plow of death. Once the brakes are locked up and ABS is activated, there is only so much one can do to avoid the inevitable.

The best thing to do in this unfortunate circumstance would be exercising more caution. This driver more than anyone now understands vehicle physics on wet pavement. It may be a track monster and handle like on rails when the road is dry, but a soggy oil laden road is no surface for rear wheel drive performance driving. Even the best all-wheel drive vehicles can experience a certain degree of trouble traversing in this specific scenario. With the right asphalt sealant, a wet surface is no better than an icy surface. By watching the video below, it's safe to say this DB9 is totaled. Better luck next time!
