1000 horsepower Mustang

Modifying a Ford Mustang to 1000 horsepower is not an easy task! It's much more than just slapping on a forced induction system or buying your way into 1000 horsepower. To truly build a 1000 horsepower Mustang, the builder must earn the rights to this power. Extensive wrench time and careful consideration of every aspect possible during the build is critical to creating a reliable 1000 hp Mustang. The best chassis to use for this kind of power is the third generation thanks to its great design and light weight abilities. The third generation Mustang chassis is a favorite of Mustang builders who love the thrill of the drag strip.

Third generation Mustangs are based on the larger Fox platform, giving it more strength than later generations. One of the last true muscle car chassis readily available today, a builder can purchase this chassis in need of repair for around one thousand dollars. After all repairs have been made to the chassis to get it track worthy, one can expect to spend around $15,000 to $20,000 in order to gain into the 1000 horsepower range for a reliable daily driver. For this kind of power, the price of a new compact vehicle isn't bad! Instead of purchasing a new Cobalt, Accord, or Hybrid, consider purchasing a third generation Mustang and building it up to 1,000 horsepower!

The build will consist of gutting the entire vehicle including new transmission, drive line, engine, and interior. Internal engine modifications include forged pistons and rods, sleeved cylinders, hardened valves, larger cam, and high performance crank shaft to handle the crazy amounts of power. Adding extra frame components to help brace for this enormous amount of power is a must! If you do not build the proper bracing, your engine will literally twist apart the chassis! Once the vehicle is properly built, invest in a nice set of drag radials and possible a wheelie bar and parachute. Check out the video below of a 1000 horsepower Mustang ripping up the streets!
