It is no secret in these tough economic times teams must work overtime to get the fans out to heir stadiums. Every team in the NBA has some kind of promotion to lure the fans in, but the Minnesota Timberwolves have found two that are working very well.
The first of these is College night. On Wednesdays student from the University of Minnesota are eligible for ten dollar tickets. The first 100 of students to purchase these tickets each Wednesday night get a free upgrade to the lower level seats.
The team also offer a free bus service from the University campus to the stadium and back again.
Last year the team averaged 40 students per game, this year they are averaging over 200 students per College Night promotion.
The team’s other promotion is a meal deal. Under this deal a fan gets a 20 dollar seat, hot dog, pop, and chips all for 19 bucks. This deal is available each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. So far this season this promotion is seeing a 10% increase over last season.
