8 to 10 years to rebuild the Royals, Really?General Manager Dayton Moore keeps telling his fans to trust the process, and by and large they have grown sick of hearing that. So today he came out and said that the process is going to take eight to ten years. He has set a goal of 2013 or 20104 for a majority of the 25 man big league roster to be filled by home grown talent. There are so many problems with that statement that is laughable, the most important being how are the Royals going to develop their own talent and not watch them sign lucrative free agent deals with big market clubs.

2010 MLB preview: Kansas City Royals Life is tough for Kansas City Royals fans; in 2009 it was a new kind of disappointment. 2009 MLB season in review: Kansas City Royals The Kansas City Royals have only had one winning season since 1994, last year they rode a hot September streak to finish 75-87 and the thought was the Royals would step up and be a contender in 2009. Let’s face it they have the best pitcher in the American League in Zack Greinke, and actually spent the off season adding payroll instead of deleting it. However this is a team that has no depth, Greinke’s 16 wins was double the amount of every other pitcher on the Royals staff. If they want to be legit players in the American League Central, the worst division of baseball, they will need to add more pieces. |
