On Monday night, Royal Caribbean International celebrated the official naming of its newest ship, Oasis of the Seas. The ship is the largest cruise ship in the world.
In an expansion of tradition, seven celebrity godmothers (Figure skater Michelle Kwan, swimmer Dara Torres, and gymnast Shawn Johnson, plus Gloria Estefan, Daisy Fuentes, Keshia Knight Pulliam, and Jane Seymour) were on hand to name the ship and perform the customary breaking of champagne.
Other celebrities were also present for the occasion, including Michael Jordan, Corbin Bleu, and Karina Smirinoff. As part of a Make-a-Wish celebration, several children got to fulfill their dreams by meeting their favorite stars.
