One wild and precious life

In exploring my roots as a 13^th generation granddaughter of Pocahontas, I was blessed with many teachers from various Native American traditions.  Among the first of the elders to come forth to share the ancient wisdom was Grandmother Twylah Nitsch of the Seneca nation, who summed up what I believe has been true in general as a core teaching of indigenous tribal peoples, simple yet profound: “Walk on the earth, listen, and act accordingly.  You will know what to do, how to be.” 

The earth, our mother, gives us life, and reflects back to us the energy we feed her.  It operates what we know of as “The Golden Rule,” do unto others as you would have them do unto you.  This year I put a great deal of loving attention on my garden for the first time; I now see and experience the nurturing verdant fruits of my energy returned to me with beauty - like never before.  Everything is growing boundlessly in my peaceful space of love!

In the cement and technological jungles of our time it takes extra effort to remain tuned into that which we, at our core/heart so desperately need connection with.  Don’t you feel it, an innate need to connect with something greater?  Usually we look to other, when actually what we seek is inside ourselves and is mirrored back to us through our actions and intentions. 

Do you see life through a narrow, rigid tunnel?  Has your harnessed buzzing life stripped your sensibilities to an alcohol numbed high, your range to an Rx field of vision?

Or do you feel the fullness of life as reflected in the changing seasons, the flow of rivers and ebbing tides, the whisper of wind on your skin, the warmth of the sun through a cold winter’s window, the depth of the ages, the presence of NOW?

Following their heart and spirit-aligned wisdom, individuals around the globe are working to evolve their inner consciousness to make a meaningful difference at this extraordinary time of paradigm shift.  Interlocking circles are forming to work in harmony with one another, and I am very excited about the work HeartMath is doing with

It works for me in my own garden, it worked for indigenous peoples over the millennia, and I believe that increased scale and collaborative focus offers us the best chance for positive change in the world.  Let’s walk on the earth and fly like the eagles with love in our hearts.
