Soft Clothing brand tests all new fashions on children with hypersensitivity to regular clothing in order to better understand what bothers kids about how their clothing fits. With shirts, dresses and pants that include flat seaming, printed labels and encased elastic, the line hopes to appeal to the children with sensory issues like Autism, sensory processing disorder and tactile defensiveness.
The style is hip and fun, yet functional and easily dressed up. Jessica Ralli is the special educator and graphic designer from New York who teamed up with Suzy Kogen Friedman, a mom and advocate of children with Autism. They relied on friends and connections in the fashion industry to get the line designed.
The launch of their website in Jan. 2010 starts off with their Basic collection which includes socks, tshirts, pants and dresses that range from $10 to $25. They offer free shipping on orders of $50 or more when you use the coupon code softlaunch at checkout but you can see more special offers for their site launch by visiting their blog, Soft Clothing Blog.
