An easier way for special needs kids to ride a two-wheel bike is coming this fall

The GyroWheel offers added stability at slow speedsFour brilliant students at Dartmouth wanted to give a slow-moving bicycle some additional stability, so they figured out a way to put a gyroscope inside a standard bicycle tire.

The Gyro Wheel has three stability settings as the rider's skill level improves.  Simply remove the front wheel of any bike and install the Gyro Wheel.

This product was designed with average children in mind, but like many great products it is valuable to  many others as well.  Special needs children who are able to pedal and steer but have balance issues will get lots of use out of the Gyro Wheel.  Of course the child should wear protective gear like a helmet and pads, but this invention can add to the independence and self-confidence of a child who is ready to go beyond the trike.

The Gyro Wheel comes in two sizes and two colors and is $79 and will be available in the fall of 2009 online and in select retailers.
