Kyle, 2004, smiling through cancer treatment
Today is tax day, and in case you just finished adding up all the medical expenses you've faced for your child with special needs, or are wondering how you can work a job and get your child to all those therapies and doctor appointments, I thought you could use some cheering up, and a reminder of why all that is worth it, and how somehow, God takes care of it all, in the times we think it can't possibly work out. How through our kids, we are inspired to do some awesome things for the world. The video below is one of those things that one parent did.
My kiddo with disabilities was prenatally diagnosed with Down syndrome, just the first of his many issues. It was a heart wrenching time. But we chose to let him live then, we fought like crazy to save him when he had leukemia, and we fight every day to give him the best chance he can have. Just like you. Watch the video below and smile, because you know how beautiful your child is. You know what a gift he or she is. You know what's important about people and what just isn't. In these and many other ways, even in your struggle, you are blessed. And so am I.
