Barbara Mader has been a teacher in three states in the fields of speech therapy, special education, and reading. She has worked with students from pre-school through age 21. She also tutors for local districts and privately, primarily helping students with components of dyslexia improve their reading and spelling skills, and increase reading fluency. As a volunteer with Literacy NY, she helps adults with difficulties in reading and writing English or obtaining a GED. Barbara also serves as the Albany Cats Examiner. She has been a lifelong animal lover with cats as her favorites. A budding novelist and blogger, Barbara has almost completed her first novel, and blogs regularly at "What Mama Says."
