2010 Kennedy Space Center's All-American Picnic to be held at KARS Park I

Kennedy Space Center's 2010 All-American Picnic will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Kars Park I.

Every year, the Kennedy Space Center holds its ‘All-American Picnic’ and this year will be no different, this Saturday, March 6, the picnic will be held at the KARS Park I from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The picnic is far more than just a picnic however, with the following events taking place throughout the day:

• Car/Motorcycle Show

• Children’s Games

• Meet the Astronaut – With shuttle astronaut Dom Gorie.

• Community and Wildlife Exhibits

• Family Sports

• Generation XYZ games

• Chili Cook Off

Lunch will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. One admission ticket entitles the ticket holder to one lunch meal. Refreshments such as soft drinks, water and beer will be provided throughout the park for your enjoyment from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and are part of the ticket price. Additional food items included in the ticket price include; roasted corn on the cob (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and starting at 11 a.m.), hot dogs (starting at 2 p.m.), ice cream sandwiches (1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.), popcorn (10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), cotton candy and snow cones (10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.). Wheelchair accessible seating will be available in the dining areas. Tickets are required for the lunch meals.
Expect for there to be a large number of people attending this year’s KSC All-American Picnic and for parking to be limited. Arrive early and please remember to be patient. Here are some things to plan for:


• Expect traffic to be backed up during peak arrival times of 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

• Expect to have to walk a distance from your vehicle to the picnic area.

• Follow the parking attendant's directions.

• Drive slowly and watch for people crossing roads.

• Please be polite and patient.

• Disabled parking is available to those with official State disabled permits.
