Former astronaut Charles Bolden has just been confirmed as the next NASA administartor, Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) announced.
A bit of personal commentary--they couldn't find anyone better to lead NASA through this time of transition. In fact, in January I predicted that Bolden would be NASA's next leader.
Lori Garver is NASA's next Deputy Adminstrator.
Retired from the U.S. Marine Corps as a Major General, Bolden flew four space shuttle missions. He's served as both pilot and commander, and was part of the team that deployed the Hubble Space Telescope.
Reaction to Bolden's appointment has been overwhelmingly positive, both in Washington and within the aerospace community.
