Once in a while you come across a one-of-a-kind esthetician who takes one look at your face and tells you exactly what's going on with your skin—and life, for that matter.
Carmella from the Grand Spa on the Lower East Side is that kind of woman. A passionate skincare specialist in possession of her very own flawless face, Carmella knows skin. Her facials feature anti-aging and deep cleansing components which utilize a high-end dermatological line of products that are vitamin-enhancing and nourishing. Her multi-vitamin, rich exfoliation treatment was especially soothing and moisturizing. She also takes extra care of of your neck and shoulders in her pampering, one-of-a-kind facials. You'll walk out feeling like your skin and mind are clear.
But my favorite part is that Carmella takes the time to get to know her customers; figuring out exactly how a person's lifestyle could be triggering his or her unhappy skin.
Facials at Grand Spa are a great deal at $75 for 60 minutes. Carmella also offers laser tightening treatments for only $150.
Carmella shared the following tips with me to keep skin looking excellent:
Hydrate Drink at least eight glasses of water daily to keep your skin moisturized from the inside out.
SPF30 Don't forget your sunblock in the winter. This season's sun can do the worst damage on your skin.
Start Neckin' Your neck needs loads of attention and can be the first to wrinkle. Make sure you're cleaning, exfoliating, and moisturizing it daily; and always apply products from bottom to top.
Get Your Zzzz's A lack of sleep can age your skin before it's time. Make sure you're getting between six and eight hours of shut-eye each night to ensure you're relaxed and stress-free during the day.
Go Cold Don't wash your face with hot water. It dries the skin and keeps your pores open. Use warm water to wash, followed by cold water.
The Grand Spa recently moved to a new location at 403 Grand St., New York NY. Find out more about the spa here.
