Put your best face forward this holiday season with Qua's Hydratherapy Facial

If you think all facials are the same, think again.

Qua Baths & Spa’s high-tech Hydratherapy Facial redefines the traditional facial experience by using Edge System’s HydraFacial machine to simultaneously bathe underlying skin with specially developed anti-aging and vitamin serums while your aesthetician exfoliates and hydrates the area. A favorite amongst celebrities (a 2009 issue of InStyle magazine featured the HydraFacial as the hottest celebrity pre-bridal facial), skin is left simply radiant following the procedure, which also includes a Diamond Tip Abrasion (or crystal-free microdermabrasion) to plump up fine lines and stimulate collagen.

The 80-minute service ($325) begins like most other facials with a cleanser, in this case, Image Skincare’s Vital C Hydrating Facial Cleanser. A creamy, hydrating cleanser that treats environmentally damaged skin (perfect for those living in Las Vegas), the Vital C cleanser is ideal for smokers, travelers and all skin types needing more moisture, as it gives skin a renewed, nourished and silky smooth feel. To make sure pores are left truly clean and make-up free, a second cleanse is performed, this time using the popular Clarisonic skin care brush to really give skin a deep cleanse.

Following the two-step cleansing process, the HydraFacial machine is introduced for the next part of your service: the crystal-free diamond tip microdermabrasion. Although a little rough and sandpaper-y, the Diamond Tip Abrasion isn’t too uncomfortable—it sort of feels like a cat licking your face. Once the microdermabrasion is complete, the HydraFacial machine is used to infuse your skin with three different types of serums (active-4, beta-hd and antiox-6; a gly sal peel add-on may also be applied in between the first and second serums depending on your skin type) before Emergin C’s Glo Force Mask is applied to your skin. Once the mask is applied, a relaxing facial massage is performed to help pass some time, as well as an eye treatment. To further enhance your near-slumber-like state, a décolleté, neck and shoulder massage is also performed while the mask works its magic. Then, the HydraFacial machine is used again—this time for a little red light therapy to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles—before some Vital C eye serum is applied underneath your eyes to diminish dark circles. The treatment concludes with an application of Image Skincare’s Ormedic Balancing Bio-Peptide Crème to deliver essential anti-aging nutrients and vitamins to the skin, and an application of Skincare’s Ormedic Balancing Lip Enhancement Complex to dramatically enhance the appearance of lip contours. By the time the facial is complete, skin will be left simply glowing and that’s no exaggeration—the results are noticeable instantly, and you’ll walk out of the treatment room truly feeling like your skin is years younger.

As with most 80-minute facials, Qua’s Hydratherapy Facial does come with extractions, though you’ll notice that part was left out of the description above. That’s because the extractions are done simultaneously with the HydraFacial machine during the first half of the treatment. If your aesthetician didn’t mention when the extractions were being performed, however, you wouldn’t even notice, as they’re done literally pain-free. Yep, that’s right—no pinching or poking, the machine just sucks out any blockages! It might just be the nicest thing about the service, although the facial’s thorough results are nothing to dismiss. If you’re someone who tends to breakout after receiving a facial or your skin tends to get all red and blotchy looking, this is the facial for you, as you can literally walk out of the treatment room and go to a big event without any worry. No wonder the staff at Qua refers to the Hydratherapy Facial as the best facial money can buy! It may be a bit of a splurge in today’s economy, but the results are well worth it.

Plus, as with any paid spa service at Qua, those who book the Hydratherapy Facial will receive access to the spa’s beautiful facilities, which include a Roman Bath area with three distinct pools varying in temperature (warm, hot and cold); an Arctic Ice Room that lets guests unwind in a crisp, 55-degree room as falling snow relieves stress; an herbal steam room; a co-ed laconium room; a cozy tea lounge and more. Guests can literally spend an entire afternoon unwinding at Qua there’s so much to do. Be sure to arrive at least an hour or two before your treatment to enjoy the facilities, as you won’t want to sweat or rinse off any product after your service is complete.

Qua Baths & Spa, located inside Caesars Palace at 3570 Las Vegas Blvd. S. on the second floor of the Augustus Tower, is open daily from 6 a.m.-8 p.m. To book your Hydratherapy Facial, call 1-866-782-0655, or for a complete menu of services, visit Qua Baths & Spa’s official Web site.
