Earth Balance has been known for their dairy-free alternatives to butters, margarines and spreads. Instead of milk or cream, all Earth Balance spreads are made of expeller-pressed vegetable oils and plant-based proteins and still taste like the real thing. Yet, all of their products were soy-based, making them unacceptable for those living soy-free. Earlier this year, however, Earth Balance remedied that situation with the release their first soy free spread. In addition to being soy free, this spread is also that is all natural, dairy/lactose free and vegan. It has zero grams of trans fat per serving and is an excellent source of omega-3s. With100 calories and 11 grams of fat per tablespoon, this spread is typical of other margarines on the market.
This margarine is creamy, soft and has a wonderful butter flavor. It works well spread onto a piece of bread, melted in a frying pan and in baked goods. It does; however, seem to melt quickly so it cannot be left out of the fridge for too long.

This would be great, but I'm also allergic to sunflower and safflower derivatives!
