David L. Brown is a journalist and author based in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. He has written extensively on science and technology, with particular interests in the environment, agriculture, alternative energy, space and climate change. Since 2006 he has posted nearly 500 essays on these and related topics at www.starphoenixbase.com. He has been a newspaper and magazine editor and written several books, including two novels. He is currently at work on a non-fiction book about industrial agriculture and is active in his role as vice president of the Society of Professional Journalists, New Mexico chapter.
