USF and Syracuse have something in common.
They are both 1-4 in Big East play, planted firmly at the bottom of the conference.
Syracuse fired its coach, Greg Robinson, on Sunday.
USF still has Jim Leavitt.
Leavitt's stock is falling like a rock in the water.
Witness the latest: www.JimLeavittmustgo.com.
The new site was opened by some discontented Bulls fans.
It points out Leavitt's Big East miseries and his mediocre performance when the Bulls were in Conference USA.
Add last year's bowl embarrassment against Oregon and the current four-game losing streak and the discontent is spreading.
Leavitt may not be very popular with his own staff.
During the bye week before the Rutgers game, he required his assistants to work from 8 a.m. to midnight on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
He may be losing his team as well.
Players were shouting at each other on the sideline last Saturday. They obviously did not respond to what Leavitt had to say to them at halftime of the Rutgers game. It was obvious that they didn't even compete in the final 30 minutes.
Two local high school coaches at the Saturday game told this Examiner that Leavitt hasn't endeared himself to local high school coaches, either.
However you look at it, all is not well at USF.
