Principled leadership means understanding how your business decisions impact the broader community, says Stanford Graduate School of Business Dean Garth Saloner. In an increasingly complex and global world, that understanding must span industries, public sectors, cultures, and countries.
Dean Saloner received an MS in statistics, an AM in economics, and a PhD in economics, business, and public policy from Stanford between 1978 and 1982. He joined the faculty of Massachusetts Institute of Technology as an assistant professor in 1982 and became a tenured full professor in both the economics department and the Sloan School of Management. He also has taught at Harvard.
