In a September 25 interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, former President Bill Clinton acknowledged that he has changed his mind and now supports full marriage equality for gay couples.
During the interview, Clinton revealed that he had been “hung up” on the word “marriage,” but finally realized recently that his opposition to same-sex marriage didn’t align with his other views, such as his support for adoption rights for gay couples and his agreement with the House effort to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA)—which Clinton himself signed into law in 1996. The former president also affirmed that individual states and churches should be allowed to marry same-sex couples without federal interference.
Clinton had earlier hinted at this fortuitous flip-flop, during a Q-and-A session at the Campus Progress National Conference in Washington, DC in July; the CNN interview was an official confirmation of his “evolving” stance on marriage equality.
Clinton’s change of heart is a welcome sign that fair-minded Americans can learn to overcome the prejudices of their youth and embrace LGBT equality as a civil rights issue. It now remains to be seen whether Clinton’s own wife (Secretary of State Hillary Clinton) and President Obama will follow the former president’s lead—and join the majority of Democrats across the country—by becoming supporters of gay couples’ right to marry.

How else could this boring news reader get on a national cable show? He's got a flat head perhaps, great for placing a book or script for reading while Anderson services the uppy ups.

People do not realize how legalizing same-sex marriage would impose upon everyone in our society. Those of you thinking it a matter of live and let live need to think again. In one state, homosexual sensitivity indoctrination was required in all K5-12 grades within its public school systems after such legislation. Elementary level reading materials complete with graphics promoting homosexual families were forced upon everyone in a required course on the tax payer's time, whether ALL families of students accepted it or not. In other words, those disagreeing with homosexual marriages and the gay lifestyle LOSE THEIR CHOICE to not participate, to be the primary moral teachers for their children, and/or refrain from the legalized “choice” of gay marriage. Moreover, not everyone can afford to pay taxes to the public school system, and at the same time pay the private tuition to enroll their son/daughter in a school that will honor their personal choice. I have a friend from college who claimed I was homophobic for disagreeing with her lifestyle. I had to remind my friend that I loved her as a friend in spite of her choice to engage in a lifestyle I disagree with, and she came to realize how ridiculous it is to place someone in the homophobia category for not agreeing with homosexuality or the homosexual agenda personally. I don’t think many people have really thought this agenda through.
Even so, many politicians are generally not very good role modals for their own families let alone our nation. Could Bill's "I was wrong" this time merely be sowing for another harvest in the next Presidental campaign for Hillary? It makes you wonder if he is gunning to be called "The first lady." ;-)

Couples have been coming to CT to wed all summer long from all around the country, and they have been bringing their families and friends along to celebrate with them. Congrats to all.
And let's not forget that marriage is firstly a civil matter in America, as marriage licenses are issued by and recorded in town halls, not church halls, or mosques or temples.

Of course he changed his mind about gay marriage. He was against it when his re-election bid depended on it. He "says" he is for it, now, but I'm willing to bet in the company of his "good ol' bubba's from Little Rock" he's still making and laughing at "f@g" jokes. Yeah. Politicians...active or inactive are known for their honesty and integrity. If his lips are moving, he's lying.
Overhead at the national Democratic Party office: "Uh oh, the queers are starting to be critical of the Democrats! That means they'll stop voting for us and stop giving us money! Quick, wheel out an old homophobic dinosaur to say some pretty words to corral them back into the fold! We need their votes for next year's elections. Maybe we'll repeal DOMA in 2020."
I applaud the realization by Pres. Clinton and the decision to be public about his change of heart. I now suggest he go around the country and start apologizing to all the gays and lesbians who have been hurt by DOMA.

For those of you claiming homosexuality is a "lifestyle", that is a false and ignorant statement. Homosexuality is not a choice. Just like you don't choose the color of your skin, you cannot choose whom you are sexually attracted to. Virtually all major psychological and medical experts agree that sexual orientation is NOT a choice. Most gay people will tell you its not a choice. Common sense will tell you its not a choice.
