Nicole Richie has been labeled in many roles. She has been called a socialite, a drug addict, a mother, and many times has even battled rumors of having an eating disorder. Nicole has always denied having an eating disorder, but takes her defense one step further in the March issue of Marie Claire magazine.

Nicole opens up about how she felt to be labeled with this serious accusation when she sat down for her interview with the magazine. She told Marie Claire, “I felt it was a little unfair to say someone has an eating disorder when they don’t. It’s extremely insulting and irresponsible.” Nicole understands that an eating disorder is a very serious disease and does not take the accusations by the media lightly.

This is not the first time Nicole has voiced her feelings about eating disorder accusations Prior to becoming a mom to Harlow and Sparrow, the tabloids repeatedly labeled Nicole as under-weight and gaunt. She has always taken great offense explaining that she does not want people to think that having an eating disorder is 'okay'.

Nicole's weight has obviously fluctuated over the past few years through two pregnancies. Nicole is a proud mother of two children with Joel Madden. For now, she is focused on motherhood and her career. She is hoping this recent interview will set the record straight once and for all.
