Oh yes, I kid you not, the Bailie shoe makes it’s official West Coast debut tomorrow morning.
This highly anticipated collaboration between Vans Girls and Stussy brings together for the first time, two venerable West Coast brands in celebration of a long ago era reminiscent of prohibition, speakeasies and women's suffrage. The Bailie is an iconic reflection of the laid-back, grassroots heritage that is ingrained in the Vans Girls and Stussy culture.
The low-key opulence of this menswear inspired leather saddle shoe is perfect for this LA Socialite and for the contemporary Southern California girl, whose own style is a confident blend of vintage and designer pieces.
With its laser etched waffle sole and custom perforated design and heel tab, the Bailie is a far departure from the usual slip on or lace up canvas designs that Vans is known for.
The hard part will be choosing … should I go with the black patent version with orange accents or the tan vintage leather boasting Stussy’s signature purple accents? And let’s not forget that each pair comes with it’s own specially designed vintage truck shaped box and keepsake bag.
Such a difficult decision, but knowing myself, I’ll just give in and end up buying both versions … I mean a girl can never have too many shoes, right? And the Bailie in black patent and brown vintage leather is too tempting by half.
The Bailie will be available for purchase to the public tomorrow and can only be found at select Vans retailers and Stussy chapter stores
