There is a saying, when someone points an accusatory finger at someone, there are three fingers pointing back at the accuser. The federal Conservative party angering the federal Liberals for looking for the Jewish vote certainly is not something new in political parties trying to gain the popular vote. The Liberals for decades had always maintained the Conservatives were anti french and anti Quebec, so how is this any different? Quebec's population in the 1970's was almost a quarter of Canada's entire population, hence an easy sell for the Liberals. Quebecer's voted either Liberal or Conservative for decades until the 1990s, before being splintered by a new political upstart called Bloc Quebec, whose mission was to preserve Quebecois French culture and language. This caused a rift between all parties as well as a vote split which affected the Liberal party stranglehold. Quebec's population at close to 7 million people was a sure fire way to the prime minister's office, but once the Bloc Quebec's popularity began to take effect amongst Quebec voters, Liberal party fortunes began to dwindle. The Liberals began to look to Canada's second largest voter base, Ontario, with it's growing immigrant population. The federal Liberals problem was Ontario had two other political parties to contend with, Conservatives and the New Democratic Party (NDP), both who have had a measure of success provincially and federally. So the Liberals it seems, needed a new angle, as Ontario holds the largest number of federal ridings at 106, more than any other province, it also has the largest immigrant base in Canada. The Liberals it seems were quite adept at playing the Multicultural and Diversity angle seemed like the yardstick for political success. Unfortunately, the immigrant base in Ontario is not exactly Jewish friendly. Ontario seems to be the epicentre for anti Jewish sentiment, with Toronto having more than it's share of anti Israel rallies than all the Canadian provinces combined, extending even to it's universities.
So if the Liberals state they are not anti-Jewish, perhaps the Liberals should state which ethnic group in Ontario they deem as Liberal friendly.
Though there are two sides to every story, many are just as guilty as the other when it comes to pandering for votes. Certainly seems one sided when it comes to celebrating Multiculturalism and Diversity. Live and let live, no one cultural group deserves special treatment, after all, are we not all equal in this country? Canada should not be the battle ground for another countries ideologies.
After all, when you think about it, whether Left wing or Right wing, are not all political parties on the same bird of prey?

Bloc Quebecois wants Omar Kadhr back in Canada. And that has nothing to do with preserving French culture.
And for the Conservative to have a majority government they need Quebecers votes.
BQ will find out that being friend with Kadhr is not the right approach. Harper will grab them votes...
Multiculturalism and Diversity was never in Canada's interests, only for political gain. Good story.
