Canada, U.S. silent on migrant ship sighting

The recent reports of the Thai ship MV Sun Sea heading to North America's shores has many concerned yet again.

Reports that the ship is harbouring 200 Sri Lankan migrants aboard with some believed to be Tamil Tigers, a terrorist organization banned in Canada most likely be heading to British Columbia.  While human smuggling is big business the world over, never has it been so lucrative in the far east with eager migrants lining up to jump onboard.

"Sri Lanka’s high commissioner in Ottawa contends the ship is captained by a man named Vinod, a senior member of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam."

Navy ships from Asian countries intercept, monitor or report on these ships to other countries as they steam enroute for a port in which to dispense of their human cargo, mostly these ships are turned away, such as the case of the Sun Sea and a previous human smuggling ship the Ocean Lady being turned away outside Australian waters.

British Columbia in particular seems to be a beacon for refugees and migrants all over the world considering a month ago another ship the MV Ocean Lady  breached Canadian waters and yet again 76 Sri Lankan migrants were taken in by Canada and are currently undergoing refugee claims, and once all is said and done, the end result for these migrants will be a new life in Canada and all the benefits Canada provides.

Both the Sun Sea and the Ocean Lady first made failed attempts to dock in Australia and turned tail with the Ocean Lady heading for British Columbia.

Canadian taxpayers, especially those with families overseas trying to reunite with loved ones in Canada feel the government inability to stem the tide of queue jumpers and their continuing silence on the issue of the Sun Sea will just ensure another boatload of migrants looking for an easy ride to Canada.

Maritime law prevents Canada turning back ships in distress as it is a well known way to ensure success as most ships that reach our shores are pretty derelict, though these ships seem to have no trouble getting to Canada.

Reports the ships are scuttled just enough to leave it un-seaworthy is one tried and true method as the ship reaches our 12 mile shore limit resulting in our ships offering assistance.  A nudge, nudge, wink, wink game played over and over again.

What will happen if the MV Sun Sea reaches British Columbia? Most likely nothing as last months docking of the Ocean Lady is anything to go by, with the migrants finding Canada the land of opportunity, by hook and by crook.

In October, 2009, the Princess Easwary arrived in B.C. carrying 76 Sri Lankan migrants who were immediately arrested by the Canada Border Services Agency. The men were all deemed potential security threats and detained for three months. Many of their applications are still pending in a process that could take years and cost the government $40,000 to $50,000 per applicant.

And yet many Canadians are pretty much mute on what will be yet another drain on taxpayer money and resources as our Governments stance that "Silence is Golden" as immigration lawyers in Canada reap the unlimited monetary rewards thanks to Canada's complacency.

    Two reasons to consider:

Reason one: In 1914, the Japanese-registered Komagata Maru arrived in Vancouver carrying 376 passengers from Punjab. The ship was forced back to India without disembarking; on its return to Calcutta, at least 19 of the passengers were shot by police. In 2008, Stephen Harper apologized on behalf of all Canadians for the Komagata Maru incident.

In 1939, the German-registered SS St. Louis arrived in Halifax harbor with more than 900 Jewish asylum-seekers on board, having already been refused landing in both Cuba and the United States. The Canadian government likewise refused entry, forcing the ship to return to Belgium. More than 200 of the passengers were later murdered by the Nazis. Jason Kenney, the minister for citizenship, immigration and multiculturalism, frequently refers to the SS St. Louis as an example of how racist attitudes colored the policies of previous Canadian governments.

reason two: How could Canada even exist if it wasn't for the persecution, tyranny and lack of freedoms which drove the poor and disenfranchised to settle this rugged and unforgiving land. If we are to remain a great country, to live up to the pillar of hope and freedom so many put us on, we must have compassion for people who wash up on our shores.

Thanks for telling me all the secrets to operating a refugee smuggling business successfully.

It is a growing industry, relatively free from regulation.

Liberals and respectable conservatives say there is this RACE problem. Everybody says this RACE problem will be solved when the third world pours into EVERY white country and ONLY into white countries.

The Netherlands and Belgium are more crowded than Japan or Taiwan, but nobody says Japan or Taiwan will solve this RACE problem by bringing in millions of third worlders and quote assimilating unquote with them.

Everybody says the final solution to this RACE problem is for EVERY white country and ONLY white countries to "assimilate," i.e., intermarry, with all those non-whites.

What if I said there was this RACE problem and this RACE problem would be solved only if hundreds of millions of non-blacks were brought into EVERY black country and ONLY into black countries?

How long would it take anyone to realize I am not talking about a RACE problem. I am talking about the final solution to the BLACK problem?

And how long would it take any sane black man to notice this and what

George, while I sympathize with the unfortunates, que jumping cannot be tolerated. As you so eloquently put "Wash upon our shores" I would like to correct you, it is more like a "Tsunami on our shores" this will continue until Canada makes a stand and learns the word "NO"!
Past indescretions by politicians in regards to the 1914 incident and the Jewish refugees was a tragic mistake the Liberal governments of the day on both occasions regret today, though funny it is the Conservatives today who are stood up to the plate and apologized for this, though it was a Liberal government who implemented these policies long ago.
To think these Sri Lankans will face the same fate as the Jewish refugees is mistaken, they are coming here out of opportunity first, and then to fight for a homeland they will never go back to regardless if they get their way. Do you really think if Sri Lanka was given a country, all the Sri Lankans in Canada would pack up and move back? Not bloody likely.

It is easy to jump well developed country claiming that SL government is not treating them well, or telling human rights issue. Unfortunately those officials are believing these people's talks. If you ever happen to be here in Sri Lanka capital, colombo or any major city you'll see all these Tamils, Sinhalese, Muslims live together. There are more ethnics here, burger (Dutch+Sinhala), Malay, Chinese Origin plus more. Law is equal to every one, anyone can live any part of country. Only thing you need is MONEY!
Tamils origin land is Tamilnadu of India, Tamils live in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore mainly. Now some of are part of Canada, ok, they get PR or Citizenship, But it's just a official document. Real Canadian feeling come from the bottom of the heart of real people who born that land. This apply to any country. This will be major issue for Canada (and also Britain) someday when those out comers become more powerful.

The National polls show overwhelming support that Canadians want to government to stop the ship before these migrants reach our shore and send them packing back to where they came. Canada's door is closed!

In my yesteryears I joined the Royal Canadian Navy. I was then a proud Canadian. And I sang our National Anthem and saluted our flag since I was born , I think.

Although I keep saying I am a proud Canadian, I must admit that the level of proudness is decreasing.

And that is sad, I think.

TO GEORGE: Times have changed George. Immigrants know all the benefits they will be acquiring even before arriving in Canada. There's a new industry: shopping around from country to country to choose which country has the most benefits.

Years ago, immigrants arrived with a will to work. Not for all but many, today's immigrants stick with their own, do not mix and naturallay, they enjoy our benfits.

Out of all the countries, guess which one is the most generous... TIME TO STOP.

Time to act tough on those who use, abuse and screw Canadian generosity, that includes those who come here, and soon engage in criminal activity, once caught no jail, deport them all. Canada needs to get back to Canada for Canadians, not scammers and cheats who know all the ins and outs of the system and that include immigration lawyers who see a big payday when news of migrants arriving on our shores hits the media.
