Allbritton Communications Co., the parent company of the Politico website and Washington's ABC affiliate may be ahead of this study and is trying to attract the audience that is attratced towards the first and second audience  by launching www.tbd.com. In a Washington post interview Jim Brady the former editor of the Washington Post now President of Tbd.com said ""You try to build a Web-site-first culture that operates on a 24-hour basis," said Jim Brady, who left in December after four years as editor of washingtonpost.com. "It's got a start-up feel to it. I want it to be very experimental." If you go to tbd.com you will see this has taken shape and presently it has blog posts of activities in the DC area. TBD.com also has a twitter id @tbddc and most of the staff seem to be on Twitter and very social media savvy

In the past week we encountered folks from TBD.com at multiple events during the Digital Capital Week. On Saturday June 12th TBD.com organized a TBD Brunch and Blogs Mixer as part of the #dcweek at Mie en Yu a very contemporary Georgetown restaurant.Shops at Georgetown #dcweek tbd.com Blog and brunch mixer-3432

After parking in the Shops at Georgetown we encountered this sculpture and wondered if the book would be replaced by a Kindle anytine soon. It is really strange that Gerogetown is not connected through the Metro.

Back to tbd.com and the local media in Washington DC. tbd.com is a forthcoming new hyper-local media site that has deep roots in its community approach. TBD is part of the same family of media sites as Politico and WJLATV and is owned by Albritton communications. Robert Albritton was present at the TBD Brunch and Blogs Mixer. We briefly talked to him and he was very  knowledge about  social trends and new media .@lisatella at with me #dcweek tbd.com Blog and brunch mixer

Lisa Rowan the Community Host did a great job getting DC bloggers together. I had the pleasure of meeting Shireen Mitchell, fellow examiner Lisa Bryne, Mary Kong ( girlmeetsfood.com ), Paul Hyland, Krystle Kopacz, Christen M, lookacute.com 's jackie and Shari.

I ran into the TBD team again at the 140 conference when head honcho and president Jim Brady was on a media panel.#140conf DCWeek June 2010-29

That same evening at the DC techcocktail 9 event TBD ahd a booth and many of the attendees were making their way to the TBD.com where President JIm Brady was talking to people. In the picture below a Techcocktail 9 #dcweek Jen Consalvo of Shinyhearts ventures, Jim Brady and Julie Westfall editor of TBD.com. The most positive thing about the outreach that TBD.com is that they are reaching out to local content creators and thinking of a new way to interact with them and share content. TBD is also on a recruiting spree and tweeting job openings like this one.
