Yesterday I was in New York for the Corporate Social Media Conference and this is an interview taken at the conference. That I was thrilled that my participation in the conference got a mention in The Hill Newspaper. I spoke on apanel "Reputational risk: How to spot early warnings of trouble for your brand" along with Jennifer Vogel, Communications Manager Rainforest Alliance and moderated by Bill Tolany, Whole Foods.
Was great to meet Rohit Bhargava - SVP Digital Strategy Ogilvy 360 Digital Influence and Sameer Vaasta - Social Media Strategist The World Bank who spoke at the conference as well.
The conference was attended by PR, communication professionals, brand managers, marketing professionals and digital agencies and consultants. It was great to catch-up with my friend Aaron Strout CMO at social media agency, Powered Inc. He told me the exciting news that Valeria Maltoni aka Conversation Agent (@ConversationAge on Twitter) has joined Powered, as director of Strategy. Met Stacy DeBroff CEO of Mom Central ( @momcentral ) Momcentral is a website offering support and advice for moms through forums, product reviews, articles and new mom information. My old friend Matt Dickman SVP and Partner, Fleishman Hillard was at the conference. Had a very interesting conversation with Amber Karnes Online Communications Manager of Norfolk Southern about how kids are a great audience for anything that has to do with trains. Had a great conversation with her and Stacey Parker on corporate social media and PR trends. My introduction to Patricia Watsula was by taking my Canon camera out and showing her that I used a Canon product :) . Patricia is Sr. Manager at Canon U.S.A Inc. Hope Frank VP Marketing from Motricity.com said "Hi" after my panel discussion and had the pleasure of meeting Jack DeManche who has a bright future after he is done with his studies.
I missed meeting Wendy Scherer of http://www.socialstudiesgroup.com/ and old friend and hope to see her back in the DC area again.
