The week of June 6th, 2010 changed the style, fashion and social scene of Providence forever.

With tremendous success, StyleWeek Providence showcased fashions finest designers: David Chum for Selah D’or, Nirva Derbekyan, Samuel Vartan, David Yoo for Andrea Valentini, Maya Luz & Jonathan Joseph Peters (both Maya and Jonathan are from the TV hit series, Project Runway.)

Rosanna Ortiz-Sinel is the founder, creator and visionary of StyleWeek Providence moving to Rhode Island from NYC. With support from Carrie Soucy, President, MIAMORE Communications along with an AMAZING team, they were able to pull off one of the best style/fashion runway shows to ever hit Rhode Island.  And- it lasted an entire week!

Rosanna Ortiz Sinel’s goal is to celebrate the region’s creative legacy by highlighting talented designers; and by promoting commerce for those designers, along with the area’s finest venues, restaurants and retail shops.

With RISD, BROWN, URI, Jonhnson and Whales all being in Rhode Island, it just makes sense to showcase the abundance of spectacular talent we have in our community.

In addition to bringing a fabulous buzz & vibe, Sinel and Soucy brought something much more to Providence. A wonderful sense of community, team spirit, amazing networking, business and friendship. After all that is what makes events like this successful.  Long after the cameras are gone, the runway is put away and the clothes are sold one is left with a sense of accomplishment and pride.  Knowing that events like these require a team of dedicated hard workers makes it that much more special.  Each member of this team brought different talents & insights culminating in a spectacular history making event.

The power of social media marketing was clearly evident with people facebooking and tweeting during and after the week long event.

Hats off to StyleWeek for bringing buyers, designers, friends and style to Providence. We anxiously await the next one planned which is scheduled for January 2011.

I am very proud to have been invited & part of the first ever StyleWeek Providence!
