If you are a Star Trek fan or just totally into anything related to Sci-Fi, then the ultimate in social network sites awaits you. William Shatner has time on his hands and thinks that you do, as well. Myouterspace.com has arrived.
When you enter the site, there is a welcome message from William Shatner, "MyOuterSpace.com is a Sci Fi Social Network for those with a passion for the arts. Whether you are a fan of Sci Fi, Horror or Fantasy or seeking a career in the Science fiction industry MyOuterSpace.com has much to offer. Register on the planet that host your talent, fill out a profile and connect with others in your field."
Registering is simple with just basic information. However, you do need to choose a planet and there are rules that state that you can only be a citizen of one planet. So much for multitasking.
Once you have chosen a planet and completed registration, you cannot change residency to another Planet. There are six planets to choose from that will "host your talents."
Orpheus- Musical Artists, Singers, and Bands
Creatia- Writers, Playwrights, and Directors
Anteros- Illustrators and Motion Graphic Designers
Triton- Set, Lighting, and Sound Designers and Producers
Zara- Actors, Actresses, and Comedians
Sirius- Gamers, Game Developers and Gaming Experts
Once you complete your registration, you will receive a confirmation email:
Welcome to Myouterspace.com and thanks for participating with us as we launch into creativity and collaboration. We have members now from around the world who are passionate about the arts from every arena of the science fiction realm. Gamers on Sirius to 3D designers on Anteros, from Sweden to Australia we are excited to network with you and create some fantastic Sci Fi projects. Investigate the Planets and those who inhabit them. The Starships are warming up!
Mission videos, planet and starship information, applications, member groups and more are all part of this well put-together site.
This social networking site will obviously not be the new "Facebook" or "Twitter" but there are enough sci-fi fans out there to support it. So, if you aren't a Trekkie but know one, pass the information along. Then prepare to not hear from them again while they travel into the final frontier on Myouterspace.com
