BringPetsHome.com helps pets in shelters

This holiday season, much of your holiday shopping that is done online could help pets in shelters who are in desperate need. BringPetsHome.org is an online organization that is connecting with online sites such as WalMart, Macy's, Sephora, Amazon,  and iTunes to help save pets' lives with each purchase shoppers make.

Bring Pets Home is a non-profit animal charity that helps care for animals in shelters. Shelters never have enough money and rely on grants or donations from individuals or animal charities. Millions of pets are euthanized every year because shelters do not have the resources to house and care for them.

Bring Pets Home also has a social networking site for pet lovers: Pet Connections. Users can
upload photos and videos, join in discussions taking place right now or read blogs.

Bring Pets Home partners with major retailers so that when you shop online at regular prices through their website. Bring Pets Home donates 100% of the money raised to animal shelters. Your purchases help pets directly by paying for food, shelter, and medical treatment.

Here's how the program works:

Register. Register (optional) to select a specific animal shelter to support. If you do not register, your contributions to Bring Pets Home will be shared among animal shelters across the country. You can connect via Facebook with Facebook Connect.

When you register, you can choose a specific shelter in your area so your money will go to a local shelter. If not, your money will be distributed among shelters nationwide by Bring Pets Home.
