
Elinor Ostrom's Nobel Prize award top Twitter trend
Elinor Ostrom today became the first woman to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in its forty year history. This makes five women named in 2009 for Nobel Prize awards. Today, Elinor Ostrom has held top ranking on Google trends as well as being a top Twitter trend.
Born in 1933, Elinor Ostrom is yet another inspiration to woman around the world. With just 40 women awarded a Nobel Prize since 1901 and five in 2009, this is hopefully a trend that will go far beyond Twitter. Women are being more consistently rewarded for their achievements and Elinor Ostrom not only is one of only 40 women to receive a Nobel Prize, she is the first in her category -- Economic Science.
