The hot new social networking service Foursquare has recently added Indianapolis to its fast-growing list of cities where it's working its magic of getting its members to socialize face-to-face with an assist from social networking. Join in the fun and help us to build a rich repository of crowd-sourced fun places to hang out in Indy.
I realize my Foursquare profile isn't very exciting, but I'm just trying to get back into the habit of "checking in" after giving up on Brightkite a few months ago. Brightkite never got much traction here in Indianapolis so I'm hoping the competition of Foursquare will build a robust city guide for Indianapolis! I think the folks at the Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association would be happy to see that happen. I'm sure the folks at IndyHub will help to promote it.

It was a great campaign to get it up and running. I'm looking forward to using it more - seems like a great 'crowd' tool to build momentum on events, etc.
Foursquare is okay, but I don't enjoy using it quite as much as Brightkite. It's more quirky to interact with than Brightkite in my opinion. Still playing around with it. I just wrote a post about how I don't think the two of them are really in competition with each other at all for users.
